IATA pushes back on aviation fees in the Caribbean

10 July, 2018

IATA VP Americas Peter Cerda, via his personal LinkedIn account, stated (09-Jul-2018) St Lucia and Barbados "recently proposed new fees, some as high as USD70 for trips to extra-regional destinations and USD35 for travel within the Caribbean". He added: "We pushed back on these new fees and emphasised that aviation should not be treated as a cash cow for governments and that the long term impact will be negative".
