IATA: North American share of industry net profit declines from 60% to 44% between 2015 and 2018

IATA reported (24-Jun-2018) North American airlines are "expected to continue to outperform" airlines in other regions in 2018 in terms of net profitability, although "not to the same extent as in recent years". North American airlines are forecast to generate a 2018 net profit of USD15 billion in 2018, meaning they are forecast to account for 44% of total industry profit.
