IATA: North America and South America record more than 90% decline in RPKs

    IATA, via its Jul-2020 Americas regional briefing, reported (22-Jul-2020) carriers in the Americas provided “little improvement” in RPKs in May-2020, compared to Apr-2020. North American carriers posted a 92.5% year-on-year decline and Latin American airlines recorded a 95.4% drop in RPKs. All regional key markets recorded a decline of approximately 90%, with the severest decline in the Within South America market (-99.0%) and the least severe decline in the US domestic market (-89.5%).
