IATA: Europe EBIT margin down to under 17% in 3Q2019, yields continue to decline in Nov-2019

IATA, in its Jan-2020 Europe regional briefing, reported (03-Feb-2020) the EBIT margin for European airlines fell from 17.6% in 3Q2018 to 16.9% in 3Q2019, as a result of rising operating expenses. Passenger yields continued to decline across the key international markets in Nov-2019, most notably on Europe-South America market with an 8% year-on-year decrease and Europe-Middle East market with a 7.9% decrease.
