IATA: Environmental taxes the least popular option in the EU to fight climate change

IATA, via its official Airlines online publication, reiterated (03-Jul-2019) the results of a survey conducted by the association, which found that only 22% of European respondents would support environmental taxes as the preferred government action on climate change. The most favourable actions include developing sustainable aviation fuels and new technology. IATA said governments considering proposals for an EU-wide tax on air tickets should "listen to their citizens" and tackle the issue of sustainable aviation by other means. [more - original PR]
