IATA: Argentina to subsidise long haul buses, 'hope they will do the same for the air transport'

IATA VP Americas Peter Cerda commented on the Government of Argentina's ARS1 billion (USD14.6 million) subsidy offered to long haul bus operators in the country, stating "We hope they will do the same for the air transport" (La Nacion, 28-May-2020). He added: "I don't see it in a negative way as long as the air transport also receives the same support… [as it plays] a critical role in the socioeconomic wellbeing of the country".
