Radisson Blu to embrace the heart of Venice’s tourist district
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed a long-term management agreement of a canal-side hotel in the inner part of Venice’s San Marco district, just steps from renowned Saint Mark’s Square. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Venice San Marco is expected to open by the end of 2019 with many of the 50 rooms and suites rooms will offer spectacular views of the canal. The expansion is part of the group’s strategy to rejuvenate growth in its mature markets, especially in Western Europe.
New Hyatt House to open in Frankfurt in late 2019
A new Hyatt House hotel will open in late 2019 located in Frankfurt Eschborn, a well-established business area on Frankfurt’s Ring Road, known to be the city’s international financial and economic centre. Owned by benchmark. REAL Estate Development and leased and managed by HR Group, it will be the second Hyatt House (the first Hyatt House Düsseldorf/Andreas Quarter opened last week) and third select service hotel for Hyatt in Germany. The hotel’s immediate surrounding area is currently home to numerous high-profile corporations and good ground links to the city centre and Frankfurt airport. It will feature 190 rooms and apartment-style Kitchen Suites.
Four Points by Sheraton arrives in Tanzania with more than 120 years of history
The opening of the ‘new’ Four Points by Sheraton Arusha marks the arrival of the brand in Tanzania in East Africa, but the building comes with more than 120 years of history. Rebranded after renovation, the hotel retains the charm reminiscent of a bygone era that supports its long history – the original The Arusha Hotel was founded in 1894 and has been a long-time city landmark playing host to many dignitaries and well known personalities. Designed for the modern traveller with an emphasis on approachable design, the 106 room Four Points by Sheraton Arusha, The Arusha Hotel, features spacious and modern rooms including suites. It also offers an all-day dining, a coffee shop and houses the famed Hatari Bar, named after John Wayne’s safari epic.
Oberoi Group makes final preparations for delayed Morocco debut
The Oberoi Group is making final preparations to open its first Moroccan hotel and expand its Oberoi Spa and wellness experiences within a luxury destination retreat. The facility is expected to start welcoming guests before the end of this year. It is located just minutes south of the city centre and the international airport, nestled within twenty five acres of fragrant citrus orchards and ancient olive groves. A highlight is the destination spa, sprawling across a private island on a lake. Covering 21,530 square feet, facilities include hammams, swimming pools, a fitness center and treatment rooms
Marriott adds Florence to its Autograph Collection Hotels portfolio in Italy
Marriott International has confirmed the opening of Hotel Sina Villa Medici, located in the historic heart of Florence, the fourth Autograph Collection Hotel in Italy. The hotel joins a diverse portfolio of more than 125 Autograph Collection Hotels around the world – all one-of-a-kind properties that champion values of vision, design and craft. Housed in a historical residence dating back to the 19th century, the 99 room hotel has a new, resplendent look following an extensive nine-month refurbishment.
Eros Group explores growth in Europe, with London top of its list
India’s Eros Group has big plans for the next two years and is exploring an expansion of its hotel and commercial property portfolio into Europe. According to Prashant Rai Sood, director, EROS Group and proprietor, Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel in New Delhi, The Eros Group hopes to expand its footprint in India and internationally as well as it looks to double its inventory by 2020. “We are currently focusing on exploring properties in Europe, London as well as major cities in India, developing existing land banks, developing hotels and commercial properties,” he said.
