Hong Kong SAR: 'Not our intention to become a long term shareholder of Cathay'

Hong Kong SAR Finance Secretary Paul Chan stated the government's investment in Cathay Pacific is to help protect Hong Kong's role as a leading international aviation hub while generating a "reasonable" financial return (Reuters, 09-Jun-2020). He said: "It is not our intention to become a long term shareholder of Cathay Pacific. It is not our intention to interfere with the operation and management of Cathay".
