Hong Kong Airlines to reduce workforce by 10%

Hong Kong Airlines chairman Hou Wei said the carrier plans to reduce its workforce by 10% (400 employees) and has asked remaining employees to take at least two months of unpaid leave or work a three day week from 17-Feb-2020 to 30-Jun-2020 as the airline's financial situation deteriorates due to the coronavius outbreak (South China Morning Post, 07-Feb-2020). The carrier plans to reduce daily operations from 82 frequencies to 30, effective 11-Feb-2020 to late Mar-2020.
