Hong Kong Airlines notes strong trend on Japan services, looking to expand

Hong Kong Airlines GM for Japan Lee Jieshi said trend on the carrier's eight Japan services are strong, adding the carrier aims to achieve further growth by continuing to expand its network and improve inflight products (Travel Vision, 24-Jun-2018). The carrier operates 82 weekly services between Hong Kong and Japan, with load factor on Tokyo Narita and Sapporo Chitose services averaging more than 90% while load factor on other services average above 85%. Mr Lee also said the carrier would like to operate new services and increase frequency on existing services as he expects inbound demand to Japan to continue to increase towards 2020. Hong Kong Airlines is currently studying the possibility of charter services to Hanamaki or Niigata.
