Hawaiian Airlines to attack Hawaii-US west cost market with A321neo aircraft

Hawaiian Airlines president and CEO Mark Dunkerley stated the A321neo is “ideally suited” for the Hawaii-US west coast market (AINonline.com, 18-Dec-2017). Mr Dunkerley said that Hawaiian previously “left the mid-sized West Coast-to-Hawaii markets unattended, owing to the lack of a compelling aircraft with which to serve them” and it is “really exciting to be attacking this market”. The last phase of Hawaiian’s decade-long strategy is “finally under way”, Mr Dunkerley said, with the carrier’s first A321neo scheduled to enter service on 08-Jan-2018. He added tools are now available to the network planning team “to enter the midsize markets that we have thus far largely been unable to tap”.
