Guarulhos to implement environmental tax for Sao Paulo Airport passengers

    Guarulhos Government announced (17-Apr-2019) it is preparing a bill which will tax passengers boarding at Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport, claiming the funds will be used for environmental actions to compensate for pollution generated by aircraft. The value of the tax is pending on studies. Environment and Finance secretariats identified the airport as a “pollution generating belt… causing environmental degradation”.
