Government of WA to allocate USD8.6m to boost regional airfares and visitation

West Australia State Government announced (10-Feb-2020) a AUD12.85 million (USD8.6 million) allocation towards a regional aviation and tourism package to boost cheaper regional airfares and drive more visitation to regional Western Australia. The Government of WA will allocate AUD8 million (USD5.3 million) to incentivise initiatives that will support more affordable regional airfares on key routes, with remaining funds to be immediately used to drive more interstate and intrastate travellers to holiday in Western Australia, in response to east coast bushfires and the novel coronavirus.
