Google adds boarding pass and ticketing functionality to Google Pay

Google added functionality to support mobile payments and ticketing for airfares to its Google Pay service, effective immediately (The Verge/Android Police, 08-May-2018). Google collaborated with Urban Airship on a "streamlined" and "engaging" ticketing and boarding pass experiences, allowing tickets and boarding passes to be saved to Android smartphones and other devices through airline apps. Southwest Airlines already introduced the functionality to its app. Support for other entertainment and travel payment categories such as movie and concert tickets to be added shortly
