Gold Coast Tourism says record intl visitation comes with caveat

Destination Gold Cost welcomed (19-Jul-2018) the record number of international tourists in the 12 months to 31-Mar-2018, with growth of 3.8% year-on-year to 1.05 million, but cautioned that whilst the figures were overwhelmingly positive, the interim results would undergo a review at a later date. Destination Gold Coast CEO Martin Winter stated: "I would also caution the results because the quality of the main purpose of visit component of the passenger data supplied to TRA by the Department of Home Affairs has been identified as a concern.
