Gold Coast Airport launched (03-Dec-2019) a comprehensive hidden disability programme, building on its therapy dog programme, following consultations with key stakeholders. Key details of the programme includes:
- Hidden disability guide which can be downloaded from the Gold Coast Airport website;
- Extensive self guided education tools to help with preplanning prior to take off, including passenger journey videos and social stories;
- Practical terminal facilities including a low sensory entry, bathroom, and low sensory room as well as reserved seating at boarding gates;
- A terminal sensory map, lanyard identification programme, 'My Airport' activity book and therapy dog programme.
