Global Alliance Review: Value Alliance & U-Fly Alliance

Value Alliance

Established on 16-May-2016, Value Alliance is the first pan regional low-cost carrier (LCC) alliance. The alliance was formed by eight LCCs serving the Asia Pacific region, including Tigerair Australia, Cebu Pacific, JEJU air, Nok Air, NokScoot, Scoot, Tigerair and Vanilla Air.

In terms of market share, Value Alliance accounts for 1.3% of total seats. Value Alliance currently has seven members from around the Asia Pacific region. In 2017, Value Alliance partner's capacity included over 92 million seats, touching 30 countries, 183 airports and 341 city pairs. With over 951 aircraft currently in operation.

U-Fly Alliance

U-Fly Alliance is an alliance of independent low-cost carriers founded in Jan-2016 by HK Express, Lucky Air, Urumqi Air and West Air. As the world's first LCC alliance, U-Fly plans to expand its presence within Asia and the South Pacific, with non-Chinese LCCs. U-Fly stated it is now open to non LCC members. In Jul-2016 Korean LCC Eastar Jet became the first non-Chinese member.

In terms of market share, U-Fly Alliance accounts for 0.6% of total seats. U-Fly Alliance currently has five members from within Asia and the South Pacific region. In 2017, U-Fly Alliance partner's capacity included over 44 million seats, touching 18 countries, 149 airports and 339 city pairs. With over 129 aircraft currently in operation.
