Gisborne Airport receives USD3.6m loan from NZ Govt for redevelopment

New Zealand Government's Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) announced (07-Sep-2018) NZD5.5 million (USD3.6 million) in funding for the development of Gisborne Airport. Total cost of the redevelopment is NZD12.5 million (USD8.1 million) and will be co-funded by the PGF, Eastland Group and Eastland Community Trust, with funding administered as a loan. Redevelopment will reflect the cultural aspects of Tairāwhiti and will be in line with the region's Navigations themed tourism initiative, which also received funding from the PGF.
