Germany's NRW Minister: Duesseldorf Airport slot expansion approval may take up to five years

Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Minister for Transport Hendrik Wüst said approval for a capacity expansion requested by Duesseldorf Airport in 2015 is not foreseeable in the near future (express.de/focus.de/wz.de, 20-Jul-2018). According to Mr Wüst, around 22,000 of close to 178,000 slots requested were rejected in Duesseldorf Airport's summer 2017 timetable, around 12,500 more than in 2011. A processing period of around five years is expected for capacity expansion approval, according to Mr Wüst.
