GE Aviation: Qantas Perth-London route shows how technologies can revolutionise an industry

GE Australia CEO Max York welcomed (24-Mar-2018) the launch of Perth-London nonstop service by Qantas, stating the "path to this point in the evolution of the Kangaroo Route is a fantastic story, and we're proud to have contributed". Mr York said the route "shows the ability of advanced propulsion technologies like composites and fuel-efficient combustion systems and turbines to revolutionise an industry." Qantas' Boeing 787-9 aircraft are powered by GEnx engines, which offer up to 20% lower fuel consumption than those on previous generation aircraft of a similar size.
