Flair Airlines looking at 'two to three year loan' from EDC: CEO

7 May, 2020

Flair Airlines CEO Jim Scott said the carrier is "looking for a two to three year loan" from Export Development Canada (EDC), in order that it may "enter the recovery phase with confidence and get ourselves back up to where we were pre COVID-19" (BNN Bloomberg, 06-May-2020). Mr Scott urged the government to "really take consideration for all the airlines that are in need, to look at what we will have as a Canadian airline industry in three to five years". He warned the recovery phase will be "very choppy", estimating this is "where most of our costs will be". "We need liquidity", he stated.
