Finnair expects slow aviation recovery from Jul-2020 as it assesses the impacts of coronavirus on its long term strategy

    Finnair CEO Topi Manner reported (29-Apr-2020) “Once this acute crisis has eased” the carrier will face “an important rebuilding period”. Mr Manner said the carrier expects aviation to recover slowly from Jul-2020, with “passenger numbers to return to 2019 levels in two to three years”. Mr Manner said it is “likely” for the carrier to continue temporary layoffs “even after the summer”. Mr Manner reported (29-Apr-2020) the carrier is assessing long term impacts of coronavirus on the carrier’s strategy, including financial targets and fleet investments.
