Finavia outlined (14-Mar-2018) next steps in its Helsinki-Vantaa Airport development programme. Details include:
- Expansion of terminal 2 to commence after summer 2018, with completion expected in 2022;
- Introduction of a central plaza between the south and west piers in 2019, including security control for transfer passengers, retail concessions and passenger services;
- Introduction of the terminal 1 extension project in summer 2019, covering seven new gates and 3500sqm of space across two floors;
- Completion of west pier between gates 34-36 in the non Schengen zone during 2020;
