Fiji Airways general manager engineering Thomas Robinson confirmed (14-May-2018) the carrier took delivery of its fifth A330. The aircraft arrived at the carrier in early May-2018. It was previously owned by Etihad Airways and is “not completely in the usual Fiji Airways interior design and seat specifications” according to Mr Robinson. The aircraft is on a four year lease and will be used to add capacity in the short term to new routes such as to Tokyo Narita, and build on existing routes such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The carrier also confirmed a second leased A330 will arrive “in the next few months”. [more – original PR]
