FAA: Southwest's service to Hawaii delayed due to US Government shutdown

14 January, 2019

US FAA assistant administrator for communications Gregory Martin said Southwest Airlines' planned service to Hawaii "is delayed during this time because of the partial shutdown" (Los Angeles Times, 11-Jan-2019). As previously reported by CAPA, Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly said the government shutdown could delay the planned service. Southwest still requires certification from the FAA to operate services to Hawaii.
