Exports from Auckland Airport to Singapore double in Apr-2020

Auckland International Airport reported (04-Jun-2020) airfreight exports to Singapore increased 100% year-on-year in Apr-2020, driven by demand for fresh food products including eggs (+506%), beef (+274%), concentrated milk (+18,802%), salmon (+346%) and lamb (+165%). In addition to Singapore, shipments were transported onwards to Amsterdam, China, India, Malaysia, Switzerland, South Africa, Thailand, the UK and US. During Apr-2020, Singapore Airlines operated three times weekly from Auckland with Boeing 747-400F equipment and weekly with 777-300ER handling cargo only. Air New Zealand operated one Singapore cargo service with a 787-9. In Jun-2020, Singapore Airlines commenced five times weekly Singapore-Auckland cargo only service with A350-900, adding 175 tonnes of cargo capacity per week. [more - original PR]
