Rex aiming to increase Albany community fare to maintain sustainability of lower airfares

Regional Express (Rex) requested the City of Albany approve an AUD10 (USD7.19) increase to its AUD129 (USD92.80) community fare in order to maintain the viability of the initiative (The West Australian, 26-Feb-2019). "When the low price of the community fare is combined with the large numbers being sold, it is placing a strain on sustainability of the community fare initiative", the carrier said. Rex transported 60,900 passengers between Albany and Perth in the 12 months ended Jan-2019.
