EVA Air cabin crew votes to strike ‘at any moment’

    Taoyuan Flight Attendants Union, via its official Facebook account, announced (07-Jun-2019) its members have voted in favour of going on strike at EVA Air. Taiwan‘s Ministry of Labour said representatives from the airline and the union will meet on 10-Jun-2019 under the Ministry’s mediation to arrange future talks (CNA, 07-Jun-2019). EVA said it has yet to agree to the 10-Jun-2019 meeting, adding that it is willing to negotiation with the union after 25-Jun-2019 as it is currently preparing for a shareholders meeting. Union secretary general Cheng Ya-ling said: “We may go on strike at any moment from now on given that we have obtained the legal right to do so”.
