Eurowings to revise its 'BASIC' fare category

21 February, 2020

Eurowings announced (21-Feb-2020) plans to revise its 'BASIC' fare for short and medium haul services, reducing complimentary carry on baggage allowance, effective Mar-2020. In the new BASIC fare, customers can take a large piece of luggage on board as before, however, the second piece of luggage is no longer automatically included and passengers will only pay for those service components explicitly requested. Existing bookings are not affected by the new hand baggage policy. Additionally, Eurowings will ask 'BASIC' fare passengers to check-in exclusively online to optimise check-in processes and "significantly" reduce queues at airports. [more - original PR]
