Eurowings to introduce premium economy on long haul operations, simplify fare structure

Eurowings plans to replace the ‘Best’ economy fare bracket with a premium economy class for long haul operations, which would offer “significantly more leg room” than economy, free meals and priority check in (Der Spiegel/aero.de/airliners.de, 13-Aug-2018). Eurowings already offers the ‘BIZclass’ business class product on long haul operations, as previously reported by CAPA. Short haul operations would also see the ‘Best’ fare bracket replaced by short haul ‘BIZclass’. The ‘Best’ fare bracket currently allows Eurowings travellers to use Lufthansa business class lounges. The access will no longer be offered once rebranded as premium economy, effective 28-Oct-2018.
