1 February, 2018

Eurowings introduced (01-Feb-2018) 'WINGS Connect', a WiFi service available on its Airbus fleet from Feb-2018. 30 Eurowings aircraft are already equipped with WINGS Connect, with up to 70 to offer the product "in the coming weeks". Eurowings is the first LCC to use Inmarsat's GX Aviation inflight broadband system for inflight WiFi, while the service is offered in three packages:

  • Connect S: Purely for messaging, EUR3.90;
  • Connect M: Surfing online, including films and series, EUR6.90;
  • Connect L: Streaming and other benefits, EUR11.90.

Lufthansa Technik is responsible for installation, licensing and components of the system. Lufthansa Technik will fit the entire Lufthansa Group A320 family fleet with the latest Ka-band satellite technology in four days per aircraft. By spring 2018, nearly 185 aircraft are expected to have been equipped throughout the group. [more - original PR]
