Eurowings CEO Thorsten Dirks reported the Eurowings Group commenced preliminary discussions with unions regarding plans to consolidate the air operator certificates (AOCs) of multiple airlines operating under the Eurowings Group brand, potentially including Eurowings Europe, Germanwings and Brussels Airlines (ATW Online, 07-Mar-2019). Mr Dirks acknowledged: "Without our platform model we would not be where we are today" but said the LCC now aims to reduce complexity and improve efficiency.
