Eurowings emphasises long haul route opportunities amid strong initial performance to Cape Town

Eurowings stated (06-Nov-2017) inaugural Cologne/Bonn-Cape Town service on 06-Nov-2017 departed "almost fully occupied". As previously reported by CAPA, service operates A330-200 aircraft. Eurowings stated it is "planning strong further growth in the long-haul segment", with three long haul aircraft to be based in Munich in autumn 2017/18. The carrier also intends to grow long haul offerings from Duesseldorf and Berlin as early as spring 2018. Eurowings CEO Oliver Wagner stated: "In the coming year we are planning another huge development step and also the expansion of our long haul offering to three other German airports in addition to Cologne/Bonn.
