European lockdowns starting to ease but generally not coordinated: CAPA

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'Europe's airline capacity climb continues. Summer peak still too high', stated (01-Jun-2020) lockdown restrictions on European citizens are starting to ease, and this is a necessary first step towards allowing capacity to return. However, this process is generally not coordinated, and each country has its own approach. Some nations such as Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia have formed a travel bubble allowing each other's citizens to travel between them without quarantine conditions. Greece is likely to relax restrictions on citizens of Balkan and Baltic countries and Germany before other European countries. The European Commission has argued against discriminatory relaxations of restrictions among EU member states. Italy is following this guidance and will allow EU tourists to return from 03-Jun-2020. Other countries are tightening their restrictions, such as the UK, which is introducing a 14 day quarantine requirement for inbound passengers from 08-Jun-2020. [more - CAPA Analysis]
