EU Commissioner: Europe experiencing an 'economic shock on a scale not been seen since 1929'

EU Commissioner for Internal Markets Thierry Breton, via his personal Linkedin account, stated (22-Apr-2020) Europe has a collective responsibility to mobilise in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Europe "must prove that solidarity is not an empty word, but a tangible reality", he continued, arguing the continent is experiencing an "economic shock on a scale that has not been seen since 1929".
