EU Commission not in favour of 'coronavirus vouchers' for airlines

2 April, 2020

EU Commissioner Adina Valean reported the EU is not in favour of airlines issuing 'coronavirus vouchers' for services cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, arguing that such measures should only be given if passengers consent (Up in the Sky/airliners.de, 02-Apr-2020). The response follows EU governments, including Germany, proposing airlines offer a coronavirus voucher solution to travellers to be redeemed until late 2021, in lieu of refunds.
