11 January, 2018

Emirates and IBM signed (10-Jan-2018) a 10 year, USD85 million agreement to manage the airline's IT infrastructure. The agreement covers management of Emirates' backup environment and implementation of a private cloud solution at the airline's two Dubai data centres. It also enables Emirates to focus on strategic initiatives, while IBM covers day-to-day IT infrastructure management. The agreement builds on a USD300 million partnership signed in 2016, under which IBM provides IT infrastructure delivered as a service, allowing Emirates to improve the efficiency of passenger support systems and functions.
