Emirates Airline announced (27-Jan-2020) plans to launch daily Dubai-Singapore-Penang service, effective 09-Apr-2020. The carrier plans to operate the route with Boeing 777-300ER equipment in a three class configuration comprising eight private suites in first class, 42 lie flat seats in business class and 304 economy class seats. Penang will become the carrier's second destination in Malaysia following Kuala Lumpur. Emirates Airline CCO Adnan Kazim said: "Penang is a major centre for tourism, business travel, as well as medical tourism" and the introduction of this service will enable the carrier to "meet growing demand from leisure and business travellers" both to and from Malaysia.
