Ecuador implements incentive programmes for carriers to boost passenger traffic

Ecuador DGAC announced (13-Feb-2019) it is implementing the "Incentive Plan for New Domestic and International Operations" in coordination with Ecuador's Ministry of Transport and Public Works. Minister of Transport and Public Works Aurelio Hidalgo stated: "This initiative boosts the [aviation] sector and places it as a tool for actively stimulating tourism". DGAC added that the incentives complement the open skies policy and the 40% fuel cost subsidy implemented to stimulate tourism.
