easyJet reaffirms ambition to operate all electric aircraft on short haul services by 2030

easyJet reaffirmed its ambition to operate electric aircraft by 2030, revising its planned launch date by three years (Reuters, 30-Oct-2018). CEO Johan Lundgren commented: "We can definitely see a way forward in how we will get this aircraft into the fleet... There's no reason why we can't meet the original deadline, it's just that we're waiting on suppliers, we're waiting on batteries, so we're trying to be conservative". As previously reported by CAPA, easyJet partnered with US based Wright Electric to support the goal for short haul services to be operated by all-electric aircraft, and is working with Safran to trial e-taxi hydrogen fuel cell technology.
