DJI in support of CASA's existing drone regulation

24 January, 2018

DJI head of public policy, APAC Adam Welsh stated existing CASA drone regulations are "sensible" (The Daily Telegraph, 24-Jan-2018). Mr Welsh identified DJI's stance on drone regulation "is we believe in safe regulation and that needs to be based on risk". Commenting on the final report from the inquiry into the safe use of drones, launched by the Senate and expected to be published in late Mar-2018, Mr Welsh said: "Our hope is that the inquiry comes back with a scheme that puts Australia ahead of most nations in terms of drone use". Mr Welsh believes Australia "has a real opportunity to be an innovator in this field".
