Deutsche Post DHL Group ‘registered another very good year’ in 2017

    Deutsche Post DHL Group CEO Frank Appel stated (07-Mar-2018) due to the “successful business development in all four divisions, especially outside Germany, our company has registered another very good year” in 2017, recording year-on-year increases in revenue and operating profit. Revenue in the Post-eCommerce-Parcel division increased 6.4% to EUR18.2 billion in 2017, mainly attributable to growth in e-commerce and parcel volumes and revenues. Global Forwarding, Freight division revenue increased 5.4% to EUR14.5 billion and registered significant airfreight volume growth despite pressure on airfreight margins, particularly in 1H2017. Express division recorded growth across all regions and revenue increased 9.5% to EUR15 billion, driven by solid growth in the international time definite delivery business, where daily volumes increased 9.9%. Group capital expenditure reached EUR2.3 billion in 2017 as the company expanded and modernised DHL Express hubs and aircraft fleet and expanded its domestic and international parcel infrastructure.
