Denmark launching forum to develop sustainable tourism strategy

19 December, 2019

Denmark's Minister of Economic and Business Affairs Simon Kollerup reported plans to launch a forum to develop a sustainable tourism strategy (Inside Flyer, 18-Dec-2019). Mr Kollerup stated: "Tourism can also have negative consequences for, among other things, the environment, nature and the everyday life of the citizens". He added: "We must strike a balance where the positive effects of tourism on growth and employment go hand in hand with the development of green and climate friendly offers to tourists". The forum will be supported by a cross ministerial working group who have been given one year to work on the strategy, expected to be published by early 2021.
