Delta: Rising oil prices 'not terrible' in long term due to more durable business models being built

1 June, 2018

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian commented on declining airline stocks largely due to rising oil prices (CNBC, 31-May-2018). In the long term, Mr Bastian believes this could be "not terrible" as operators are forced to work towards more discipline and a more "durable business model". He added: "We've made a lot of money at oil prices a lot higher than this". He said 2018 will be the fifth consecutive year Delta records over USD5 billion in profits.
