Delta CEO emphasises ability to upsell, corporate travellers ‘picking up steam’

    Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian stated corporate travel is “picking up steam”, with the carrier seeing “double digit growth” for both domestic and international corporate travellers in 3Q2018 (CNBC, 11-Oct-2018). Mr Bastian said “a lot of it is the product and the brand health”. Mr Bastian also said a “big change” in the company’s marketing has been the ability to upsell, citing first class fares as an example. “We used to give first class away… today we sell about 50% of our first class seats”, he said, with the remainder given to high priority loyalty customers.
