Delta Air Lines: 'We don't see any cracks, the economy continues to be strong, demand is healthy'

6 November, 2018

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian commented on US demand, stating: "We don't see any cracks, the economy continues to be strong, demand is healthy, consumer confidence is still relatively strong... when thinking about the economy at large, domestically, we don't see any material change" (Financial Times, 05-Nov-2018). Mr Bastian stated the airline's corporate revenue base is healthy, which is the "first place we'd start to see some slip in demand from a political issue or economics". Corporate revenues year-to-date are up 10%, Mr Bastian said, so he feels "pretty good".
