Delta Air Lines to reduce seat recline on A320 aircraft

15 April, 2019

Delta Air Lines plans to reduce the seat recline on its A320 aircraft to allow passengers more space (Skift, 12-Apr-2019). The airline plans to reduce recline on economy class seats from four inches to two inches, with first class seats also to have recline reduced from more than five inches to approximately 3.5 inches. The first A320 aircraft with the adjustments will recommence operations during the week of 12-Apr-2019, with the remainder of adjusted A320s to recommence service over the next two months. Delta Air Lines director of onboard product and customer experience Ekrem Dimbiloglu said the seat adjustments are for "an optimal experience" rather than "a push to add seats to the cabin".
