Delta Air Lines 'SkyMiles' members now able to buy upgrades with miles instead of cash

Delta Air Lines announced (07-Dec-2018) 'SkyMiles' members can now purchase an upgrade with miles instead of cash. Once passengers have booked their ticket, they will be able to buy 'Delta Comfort+', 'First Class', 'Delta Premium Select', or 'Delta One' with their personal miles. Passengers will also be able to select a premium seat for any segment of their journey. Delta Air Lines SVP of customer engagement and loyalty and CEO of Delta vacations Sandeep Dube said the goal is to give SkyMiles members "the choice to use miles anywhere they can use cash with Delta, and to be able to make those transactions available in digital channels".
