Delta Air Lines sees ANA's A380 introduction to Hawaii as 'a threat'

18 January, 2019

Delta Air Lines regional director for Japan Masaru Morimoto said All Nippon Airways' (ANA) plans to introduce A380 equipment to Hawaii is "a threat", but said the carrier "can manage somehow" as it has been operating the Honolulu route for decades and "we have a substantial number of Delta fans and repeat [passengers]" (Nikkan Koku, 16-Jan-2019). ANA's introduction of the A380 is expected to increase daily capacity on Tokyo-Honolulu route by 20% or 500-600 additional seats.
