Delta Air Lines considering move to new Beijing Daxing Airport

    Delta Air Lines president for China and Singapore Wong Hong said the carrier is considering whether it will move to the new Beijing Daxing International Airport, which is scheduled to open in Oct-2019 (China Daily, 22-Jan-2019). He said the carrier has a “close cooperation” with China Eastern Airlines, which will move to the new airport. The ChinaUS aviation market and will continue to launch new services despite the overcapacity of the market and the ongoing China-US trade dispute. He said: “We remain optimistic on the long term growth potential of Sino-US flights. For long haul flights, the cost is extremely high, we have done comprehensive analysis to make the decision to launch new flights”. He also said the trade dispute has not had a “significant” impact on the performance of China-US services.
